Today, I am especially thankful for every natural hair blogger and Vlogger in the universe. You are so necessary. So often, women e-mail me or stop me on the street to pick my brain about their natural hair, and though I don't consider myself a natural hair blogger -- I love when it happens because I remember believing that I would never get a good grasp on my kinky hair. Moreover, I feel like a broken record with my natural hair message of hope {lol}, but I won't stop. Because the reality is, we weren't born with relaxed hair. And! There is nothing wrong with this beautiful kinky/curly hair that a little patience and care can't remedy.
This post is dedicated to the newly natural and not-so-newly natural on the verge of giving it up.
To start, a few things for your consideration:
If you think you're natural and you're holding on to relaxed ends, you're in denial. Go get a hair cut and get it over with.
Don't take product advice from someone who CLEARLY has a different hair texture than you and get upset when your hair does something different.
If you're completely lost in the transition, go to a salon that specializes in natural hair and have a consultation. Natural hair is NOT the same as relaxed hair.
If your stance is that you'll go back relaxed as soon as your natural hair disappoints or frustrates you, you're already losing.
