Friends Kamille, Allison and I have had tentative plans to try some of the restaurants lining Canton Street in Roswell for the past couple summers. Finally this week, we did -- the first, Nine Street Kitchen.
Situated next to one of the best consignment markets this side of metro Atlanta {Canton Street Antique Market}, Nine Street Kitchen has a quaint sidewalk seating area that would have been perfect for our midweek hour-long retreat had it not been so unbearably hot. We dined inside -- each of us choosing a hearty fettuccine pasta dish from the eatery's extensive lunch menu {which also includes soups, salads, sandwiches, light entrees and desserts}. A notation at the bottom of the menu asks guests to be patient with restaurant staff -- as all food is prepared fresh to order. It's a promise that definitely makes a first-time experience memorable. If there weren't so many of other spots to try, we'd be right back at Nine Street Kitchen next week.
